Flatpay was founded in Copenhagen in 2022 with a mission to disrupt the payment market for small and medium-sized businesses.
The core proposition is straightforward: card terminals and point-of-sale systems at a single flat transaction rate, with no hidden fees, no monthly subscriptions, and daily settlements, cutting through the opacity that has long characterised incumbent payment providers.
The focus on SMBs, which account for 99% of European businesses, has driven rapid traction, with the company onboarding customers in person and backing that with round-the-clock support. Flatpay has expanded into Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, and the UK, and has ambitions to grow both revenue and headcount tenfold by 2029.
